On Wednesday morning, October 4th 2006, the Zodiac team has lost one of their dearest team members, Monique Pels. Monique passed away after a long and unfair battle with cancer.
She was always one of the driving forces within the team and probably the biggest fan of her father Ton 'The Godfather' Pels. Her ever smiling face and willingness to talk to everybody in the pits was always very much appreciated by the other racers, teams and fans alike.

One of the tasks Monique was always happy to do was the PR side of team. She always was writing the team's press releases which were published on sites like Euro Dragster, VTwinPlus, King Racing and our own news section. Furthermore she had her own website dedicated to her passion other than her family, called Monique's Top Fuel Drag Racing Site.

During the time of her illness, she never lost her good spirit, humor, love for her family and sage advise to others. She was the strongest of persons one will ever meet in a lifetime.

She leaves behind two wonderful daughters Nikita and Indy, and her partner Bert.
